Training with Mideast Tunes Academy
This training will remove barriers faced by up-and-coming journalists in having their viewpoints heard, enabling them to create compelling content while demonstrating the potential of broadcast as a vibrant and unrestricted medium for the region.
We hope the academy will act as a launching pad for aspiring broadcast journalists to bring listeners fresh perspectives on some of the region’s most pressing yet under-addressed issues. Their podcasts will showcase the vitality of the region’s youth, presenting programming on their terms, in their voice, and in a manner which doesn’t underestimate their potential to make waves.
In a region where censorship and surveillance are the norm, it is essential that we pursue and preserve means to amplify the diverse voices of our societies.
This project is made possible thanks to a fellowship from the Blossom Hill Foundation and is conducted in collaboration with Radio Souriali.
