The Revolters are an Indie Rock band from Istanbul (Turkey), formed in 2006. Their current line-up is; Serhat Erman (Vocals-Guitar), Berkan Tomay (Guitars-Synths), Ibrahim Kent (Bass), Murat Sahin (Drums). Touted as very promising and breathtaking by music magazines, The Revolters have etched out a solid reputation as the cream of the crop band of Istanbul’s musical scene, becoming the most promising, buzz breaking band. Plugged to be as “amiable and watchable as a rock band can get”, the bands impressive live performances have been described as confident, charming, giddy and energetic. Their first single “Step by Step” from their debut EP “It’s Gonna Hurt A Little” (2007) made the band become an instant radio sensation, earning them airplay from international and local stations, alongside with it bringing widespread press acclaim. Being described as “innovative and different”, their EP “It’s Gonna Hurt A Little” has been played more than 250.000 times on Myspace since its online release! Not without a reason, it appears, as after listening to the EP “It’s Gonna Hurt A Little” The Revolters have been described by Ex-No Doubt producer Dito Godwin as a band with “an unlimited potential”. The band caught the attention of NME magazine and was mentioned in their 26th December 2008 issue. Their popularity expanded across the Atlantic making The Revolters become the cover of Dynamical Active Movement Magazine (New York), July 2009 issue. They supported IAMX, The Do, The Subways and they appeared in big festivals such as MTV Alternative Nation Music Festival, Masstival Efes Pilsen One Love Festival Main Stage. The band recorded their second EP “Future Obscure” in London with producer Luke Buttery (Cajun Dance Party, The Rakes, Nick Cave), released through Universal Turkey / Topkapi Music. “Future Obscure” hit number 2 on the best selling albums on its release week and earned the band the “The Best Turkish Act of 2009” and “Best Breakthrough Act of 2009” awards by the “Reset Magazine”. Their single from the album "Shining On" was played by Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 and the band have shot three videos for the album to songs Shining On, Cruel Attention and Twenty Nine. The Revolters are due to finish recording their first LP. Their first single from yet-unnamed album- "Feel the Beat Etc." was released in 2012.
