The Revolution Makers Band is a music and art group created 11 years ago in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. The band is known for its distinctive musical identity, which is a mixture of rap and Arabic singing, using oriental and electronic music together. The band consists of three artists who produce their work independently. They do not follow any political orientation or a specific group. The band’s orientation is to address the Palestinian reality and the suffering of the Palestinian people. The band started with some independent youth trying to spread positive energy through explaining the reality of sensitive issues in the Palestinian society, then went wider by addressing social issues of interest to the Arab community. The band faced some sort of oppression and pursuit by the authorities in the Gaza Strip. It was not allowed to produce anymore, although its only goal was to spread awareness among the youth, in Gaza Strip in specific and Palestine in general, on various social issues. Two members of the band decided to emigrate out of Gaza as a first step to find a space of freedom to keep producing their artistic work.
